River Baron Ranch (RBR) was established in April of 2012, in Covington, La. We are focused on breeding top quality Myotonic, Texmaster, and percentage meat goats. RBR breeds for goats that have correct structure and conformation. Our Myotonic goats are bred and sold for breeding stock, pets, meat, and show. We have bloodlines from Onion Creek Ranch, Bending Tree Ranch, The Bar T Ranch, Blue Bird Farm, Deer Springs Farm, Raven's Rest, among others. RBR will continue to seek quality animals to add to our flock. Our current herdsire is OCR Elliott, aka The Baron. All 100% Myotonic goats can be registered with the Myotonic Goat Registry unless otherwise noted.
UPDATE- ON MARCH 11, 2016, RIVER BARON RANCH WAS HIT BY A HISTORIC FLOOD. SEVENTY FIVE PERCENT OF OUR ANIMALS WERE LOST IN THE FLOOD. ONLY NINE GOATS SURVIVED THIS DEVASTATING FLOOD. THE LOSS OF OUR BELOVED GOATS WAS DEVASTATING TO US. AFTER SOME TIME TO THINK AND CLEAN UP THE DAMAGE TO THE RANCH, WE PURCHASED NEW BREEDING STOCK FROM MUDDY BOTTOM FARMS. BENDING TREE RANCH, AND BOOTS FAINTING FARM, TO GO WITH OUR SURVIVING ANIMALS. WE HAVE ALSO ADDED IRISH DEXTER CATTLE TO THE RANCH.
Please feel free to view our site and contact us if something catches your eye on our site, or if you just want to talk about goats!

River Baron Ranch is owned and operated by Captain Rhett J. Meyers. Captain Meyers has been a member of the Associated Branch Pilots since April 1, 1989! As a pilot working at the lower end of the Mississippi River, he has piloted over 6,000 seagoing vessels.
Until Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, the Association lived and worked out of a village on the east bank of the Mississippi River called Pilottown. Sadly, the storm destroyed the pilot station that had withstood other storms for over 100 years. A new pilot station was built in the aftermath of Katrina in Venice, La. This is where the pilots of the Associated Branch Pilots operate from today.
Our lgd pups, sister and brother. Rolling in the wet mud to keep cool. About 3 months old in the picture. They are Great Pyrenees.
These are the doelings that started off River Baron Ranch. In this photo they are just 3 months old. From the left we have Delta, Burrwood, Olga, Michella, and White Sox! They are all grown up and delivered their first kids in April with no trouble. They were all great mommas to their kids.
